Less than 50% of all registered voters participated in the 2016 General Election, and less than 50% of the citizens that voted effectively decided who our 45th President will be ! This abysmal voter participation weakens the democratic process! This petition asks Congress to legislate a voting incentive of a tax break / write off for registered voters / tax payers while also instituting a tax penalty for those who don't vote every 2 years! Voter participation should reflect the views of more than 50% of the voting population!
