realize that it has no right to prevent the legalization of marijuana if legalization is the will of the majority

Created by L.L. on November 12, 2012

This petition addresses the fact that the federal government has no right to reject a consensus of the people as it relates to the legalization of marijuana for medical and non-medical use. As seen in the official response to petitions concerning the legalization of marijuana the reason that legalization will not be considered is that the government believes it has determined that marijuana is essentially bad for us. However, it is not the government's job to play doctor to its citizens. On the contrary, it is the job of a representative government to honor the wishes of its citizens.
