Realize that the reason people "voluntarily" go for marijuana support is for a reduced sentence on minor drug charges.

Created by M.H. on October 29, 2011

The recent response to the marijuana regulation petition with over 74,000 signatures was blown off like a cheap date. The response stated that marijuana was addictive (yeah, like a hot shower is addictive), caused respiratory problems (which cigarettes do times 100), and cognitive impairment (much less impairment than alcohol). All of these are problems associated with alcohol and tobacco. Also, the response notes "Federal data that marijuana use is a significant source for voluntary drug treatment admissions." This does not recognize the fact that many of those people are "voluntarily" doing this to reduce a prison sentence for a minor drug charge. They are given a choice to take the "voluntary" drug treatment in order to get the charge off their record and avoid jailtime.
