The Washington Redskins name and logo are harmful forms of ethnic stereotyping that promote misunderstanding and prejudice and contribute to other problems faced by Native Americans. Native Americans have been questioning the use of the name and image for decades. Now over 115 professional organizations representing civil rights, educational, athletic, and scientific experts as well as 50 US senators have published resolutions or policies that state that the use of the team name and logo is derogatory and insulting.
To help Native Americans the solution is not to change the name of a football team, but to give back the land that was taken from them . The guilt you feel won't be relieved by pouring your emotions into a false, media driven issue. Do the right thing, give the country back!
