Reapproriate a portion of Big Energy subsidies to grants for homeowners to install Renewable Energy systems on homes

Created by B.H. on March 24, 2012

Big Energy corporations are reaping record breaking profits and are heavily subsidized by the Federal Government.

Homeowners, especially those of modest means, could benefit greatly by having the opportunity to have the opportunity to be able to afford to install Renewable Energy systems on their homes, which would also help reduce our Country's dependence on fossil fuels.

Reaapropriate a portion of Big Energy subsidies to Federal Grants to cover 50% of the cost the installation of Renewable Energy systems, such as photovoltaic systems and solar thermal systems.

The homeowners who could benefit the most are the homeowners that don't have a high enough level of income to benefit from income tax credits, which is currently the only Federal incentive for the installation of these systems.
