The reasoning for denying rights to same-sex or transgender couples is untenable. Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.

Created by N.A. on November 11, 2011

Family is the single most important of human institutions. Our federal government should interfere with our familial bonds are little as possible. Individuals that wish to join with another in legally recognized wedlock must be permitted to do so excluding couples that fail to meet three simple criteria. First, any and all persons to be married must consent and be able to consent as defined by the state where the marriage is officiated. Marriage is only legal between two people, and they may only be wed to no one else so long as that marriage lasts. The only other reason that the government may disallow the benefits entitled to married couples applies to pairs that, because of familial relation, significantly increase their chances of bearing a child that will inherit birth defects.
