The child support enforcement laws of the state of North Carolina need to be reassessed. There are many parents who are willingly supporting their children that are being punished with out dated rules & regulations of the state. There are parents who cannot afford to support themselves because the state forces them to pay more than half of their monthly earnings & does not take into consideration when the paying parents are unfairly being kept from the children they are supporting by the other parent. There should be more than two ways to assess the dollar figure, there should be an investigation before the CSEA is allowed to sue any parent, if the parent is already willingly paying & can show proof of payments from the time of separation, the CSEA should withdraw itself from these cases.
