Many public educators today earn what equates to less than minimum wage based on the number of children that they have in their classrooms.
The average teacher's salary (nation wide) is less than $50,000 per year. $50,000/180 days of teaching = $277.77/per day. Divide that by 30 students = $9.25/6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student. A very inexpensive baby-sitter and they even EDUCATE your kids!
We merely ask that the Obama administration examine the current state of the education system and the direction of public school funding to examine teacher salaries and benefits.
