Nudity laws in the US are very conservative and illogical, thus need to be re-evaluated. We currently live in a world in which we can be jailed for having photos of our children bathing happily, or running around the house. We cannot be nude in our own homes if you can be seen from the street. Why exactly is public nudity illegal?
We need to evaluate if public nudity is truly immoral and why. Why are we ashamed of our bodies? Why are our bodies considered offensive to others? If we can establish that nudity is natural and does no harm, we need to abolish laws that expressly prohibit it.
This is not to say that lewd gestures, inappropriate sexual behavior or any offensive behavior be legalized. This is a petition that says we legalized harmless public nudity.
