The regeneration of limbs is not a pipedream, it's been done on a small scale. In recent wars many veterans have lost limbs from IEDs and $0 is going into researching how to have the body regenerate limbs.
The JSF(Joint Strike Fighter) program is being funded with over $10 billion annually to make another fighter jet that we don't need.
I propose that the JSF program be dropped (regardless of contractual penalties) and all the funds be allocated to creating and funding a research laboratory. With $10B a year, the best researchers from around the globe could be hired to work on a single goal: tissue regeneration leading to limb regeneration. This research will help veterans, vehicle accident victims, burn victims and advance medicine altogether. Also, this will eventually save money.
