For many Americans, there is still an American Dream. It may not be a large home with a white picket fence; instead it's a basic mini-loft in the middle of the city. There is a need for smaller and more affordable places for people to live. Statistics show that wages haven't been going up in about 30 years, and people are waiting longer to get married and to have children; however, developers continue to build luxury homes way above the median income of the majority of the population.
Let this petition serve as a message to developers and the government that many of us want to buy small, live within our means, and have the ability to enjoy life a little while our wages may be low. We don't need luxury, we are the Ikea generation. INNOVATION, JOB CREATION, and AFFORDABILITY!
