I believe we should deploy the Army into the US to rebuild public infrastructure. Most of our current infrastructure was built during the the 40's/50's or during the mid 1800's and is falling apart due to little or no maintenance.
You could employ a couple million people on a lower budget than we spend to have troops active in many other places around the world.
This would bring many troops home to live with their families and loved ones and still help protect their country. Bringing many people out of poverty and stimulate the economy.
This would allow the USA to have better travel, better services, reduce waste, and lower energy consumption. All of this can be done on similar or less of a budget than what is being spent now, allowing no tax increase.
