We implore the President to make rebuilding of the national railway system a priority of this Administration. Our rail system was once one of the most vital economic cogs of this country. It is time to bring it back to this status.
Rebuilding our national rail system can be one of the catalysts for helping to put our nation back to work. Many jobs would be created giving a much needed boost to the construction and manufacturing industries. As the rail system grows more permanent jobs would come within the rail system and from private industry. The effort could be an incubator for numerous small businesses.
The time has come to start shifting funds to the rail infrastructure. It places less wear & tear on our roads, is better for the environment and provides a very safe mode of travel.
