Reburial of Medgar Evers with full military honors to section 7A in Arlington

Created by J.S. on July 21, 2016

Medgar Evers served his country with honor both in the military and as a civil rights leader. He was tragically killed by a white racist in front of his family who does not speak for me as a white male or my vision of America. Medgar Evers was buried as he truly deserves in Arlington Cemetery. However he was buried in section 36 which is visited by fewer people then the most popular areas of Arlington. The story of Medgar Evers should be brought to the attention to more Americans. Thus this petition requests that Medgar Evers with full military honors be reburied in section 7A which is located below the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near Joe Louis so that more people can view his grave and learn the story of his life.
