Distributing vouchers for private grade schools fails to solve the fundamental problems of the public education system, and stagnates it further.
If more students are enrolled in private education, public schools will not get the funding they need to hire decent teachers, loan books, lunches and provide academic and mental/physical health services. Vouchers catalyze this deterioration.
Further, according to The Young Turks, a poltical commentary show on YouTube and Current, if the United States realizes a completely private education industry, the executives of these schools may neglect students' and teachers' financial needs to reap capital.
President Obama has addressed education many times during his 2008 campaign and while in office. I hope he reads this petition with his own eyes.
