Our political system has become so broken and polluted with nonsensical partisanship. The problem is so bad that partisans don't even bother to try winning the fight anymore. Instead, they just tear down everything the opposing side does; everyone is obsessed with making someone else lose. They sabotage themselves just to sabotage the other side. It's the political equivalent of suicide bombing.
Where the Republicans in the Senate so foolishly reject a moderate Merrick Garland, despite the extreme risk that a Pres. Clinton would nominate a far more liberal judge, we hereby petition Pres. Obama to set an example and recess appoint Tina Fey to a temporary commission on the court. May this splash of cold water sober the partisans in Congress.
