Reclassify Alcohol and Tobacco as No Less Than a Schedule III Controlled Substance and Criminalize Them Accordingly.

We the People petition the Obama Administration to reclassify both Alcohol and Tobacco to Schedule III Controlled Substances as defined in Title II of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970.

We the People further petition the Administration to criminalize the unauthorized production, import/export, sale and possession of both of these drugs; incurring penalties as defined in the Controlled Substances Act.

Schedule III
(A) The drug or other substance has a potential for abuse less than the drugs or other substances in schedules I and II.
(B) The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
(C) Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to moderate or low physical dependence or high psychological dependence.
