Many of the benefits associated with serving in overseas combat zones have NOT BEEN awarded to victims of this terror attack because of it being classified as "Workplace Violence".
Benefits like hostile fire pay and special compensation and healthcare benefits for combat-related disabilities. The families of victims are being denied the additional life insurance benefits and associated tax relief that they are due.
To date, no Purple Hearts or the civilian counterpart, the Medal for the Defense of Freedom, have been awarded to the any of the victims either all due to the miss-classification of this terror attack as a "workplace violence" incident.
