Recognize the 1955 Crispus Attucks boys basketball team for being the first all black team to win a state championship.

Created by R.M. on November 22, 2015

On March 19, 1955, Crispus Attucks boys basketball team won the State championship. They were the first all black team to win a state championship in the Country. It has been 60 years since this group of young men persevered through the adversities and hardships of their lives during the 1950s. They have been recognized every year on the anniversary of this date here in Indiana but have never been recognized on a national or global level. It would mean the world to the 7 living members of this team to meet President Obama and be recognized by him at the White House.
