Since its inception, the 2nd Amendment has been about giving the people the right to defend themselves against tyranny or oppression of any kind. By restricting the peoples right to continue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is a form of tyranny. To many people have interpreted The Right to Bear Arms as to mean a firearm to hunt with, this is the wrong mindset. Any one of the writings by our founding fathers in relation to the 2nd Amendment states its true intention is to defend the people against intrusion by any form of government that becomes tyrannical or tries to instill its power over the people.
