For decades those opposed to same-sex marriage have made the argument of "protecting traditional marriage, as defined by the Bible".
If they truly wish to do so, then they must recognize ALL of the forms of "traditional marriage" that the Bible defines.
This includes:
Arranged Marriages
A man must marry his brother's widow
A man may have multiple wives
A rapist must marry his victim
If "traditional marriage" is to be "upheld" it must be held to these.
If it not, then let us agree that "tradition" is out of date and push for equality for all loving partners. Act to define marriage as it actually is: a legally binding contract of commitment between two loving, consenting adults. Remove the religious definitions that do not belong in government laws.
