Over 8 million individuals in America have no cash income. That is more than the total populations of Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Utah. Many of these are families with children. They are not being recognized as not having any cash income and they are not being helped. There is no safety net for many families. Justice means that there are "economic floors" beneath which human beings should not be allowed to fall. This petition is for recognition of families with no cash income and to guarantee them a minimum cash income of $6,000.00. This is the compassionate and right thing to do in America.
