Recognize Anderson Cooper for his sensitive and humane coverage of the Sandy Hook School Shooting.

Created by P.B. on December 22, 2012

The media coverage of the Newtown Massacre required the utmost sensitivity towards the families, town, and victims of the shooting, and exceptional journalism was of paramount importance. Anderson Cooper of CNN embodied the spirit of compassion and empathy while combining tactful, sensitive reporting with a deep understanding and respect for the people of Newtown. Families of the victims as well as Monsignor Weiss of St. Rose of Lima Church have openly praised Mr. Cooper for his tactful and heartfelt coverage of the tragedy. Please bestow upon Anderson Cooper the Presidential Freedom Award or create a new category for exceptional journalism during a crisis. Sincerely, Paul Brighton Litchfield, CT
