Recognize April 27, 2013 as "Frog Awareness Day" for the entire United States of America

Created by J.G. on December 04, 2012

The frog population of the US has shown a rapid decrease over several years because of: “habitat destruction, infectious diseases, pollution and pesticides, climate change, invasive species, and over-harvesting for the pet and food trades”. Problems can be averted if Americans knew the dangers they were causing frogs.
The purpose of recognizing frogs on this day is to spread frog awareness. Frogs are an integral part of our environment and deserve all the helpful attention they can get. By recognizing this day, we can spread awareness across the US, thus protecting our amphibian friends.
Last year, my Biology Club petitioned SC Governor Nikki Haley to proclaim April 28, 2012 “Frog Awareness Day” in the state of South Carolina, and succeeded. Please help make this day possible for the US.
