Recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Created by A.K. on October 12, 2011

In 1915, the Ottoman Empire perpetrated genocide on its Armenian population, resulting in the organized massacre of over 1.5 million Armenians, the deportation of 99% of the Armenians living on Ottoman soil, and the devastation of one of the oldest Christian cultures of the Middle-East.

Modern Turkey has continued this policy by denying the reality of the event, by mis-educating its population, by criminalizing all discourse about the Genocide, and by trying to eradicate all traces of Armenian presence from its soil.

The Armenian Genocide has been acknowledged by the International Association of Genocide Scholars, by the Elie Wiesel Foundation, numerous countries, as well as 43 US states.

We call on Pres. Obama to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide by calling it by its name, "genocide".
