Every American citizen strives to obtain their dream house, dream car, or dream profession--be it doctor, pilot, actress, superhero, or president. Barbie is the plastic embodiment of that pursuit. Her freedom to change clothing, cars, houses, and professions on a whim demonstrates the liberty that every and all Americans have to find what makes them happiest in life. The girls that grow up playing with Barbie use her as a tool to explore what their future pursuits and hopes will be, and that exploration turns into execution of those pursuits as the girls grow into the women that will help run our nation.
