Argentina continues to declare sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, even though, its inhabitants have repeatedly chosen to be British. Even after losing a war it started, Argentina refuses to drop its claim to the Islands. It has proven a shame the U.S. has thus far refused to support the United Kingdom's, arguably our staunchest ally, right to govern the Islands. It is actually rather treacherous we refuse to support a steadfast ally that has aided us significantly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
