We, the Undersigned, as citizens of the United States of America invoke the First Amendment of the Constitution and petition President Barack H. Obama to declare and recognize the 12th Month, December, as "National January Awareness Month"
Coming on the heels of a trifecta of Holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the applicable religious and/or non-religious feast day), the Month of January has little to be 'proud of' in the eyes of many.
We believe that through recognition and education, the Month of January can stand proudly with the remaining 11 months and assert itself in the number 1 status as its history and numerical value implies.
Mr. President, no one cares about New Years day. With your help and our signatures, we know that America may yet care about January!
