We the people of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties ("South Florida") hereby request that the Obama Administration and United States Congress recognize our desire to remain part of the Union should the state of Florida be granted secession rights.
The views of the constituency of South Florida are NOT reflected in the current petition to secede from the Union, as evidenced by 62% of voters supporting President Obama. We believe the views supported by citizens of other counties on issues ranging from gay marriage, religious freedom, and drug legalization are draconian and backward.
We seek to be excluded from ALL petitions and legislation written under the guise of the state of Florida.
