Dr. C. T. Vivian is a unique American.
His contributions to America's turn toward becoming a nation for all of its peoples is well documented.
Although Dr. Vivian is best known for his civil rights triumphs (http://mlk-kpp01.stanford.edu/index.php/encyclopedia/encyclopedia/enc_vi...), he is no less known as a champion of education having founded the Upward Bound program for college bound scholars (http://www.metascholar.org/highlander/photographs/p2-vi1-9.html).
