This petition is a stepping stone to help people get the benefits and help they desperately need! EDS isn’t widely known of and many individuals in the health care field don’t know that mutation exists. There are very few specialists, making management of the disease very difficult. type 3 (hyper-mobility, the most common) affects 1 in 10,000 to 15,000 people PLANET wide! currently there 314,896,443 people in the USA. That means that, on average, 31490 people nation wide have type 3. There are currently 7,056,944,298 on the planet, so on average 705694 people on the planet have type 3! EDS isn’t widely known of and many individuals in the health care field don’t know that mutation exists. Ehlers–Danlos syndrome is an inherited disorder estimated to occur in about 1 in 5000 births worldwide
