Enact legislation allowing automobile manufacturers whose products meet European Union automobile emissions and crash test regulations to sell those products in the United States. This will allow manufacturers to save millions of dollars per model in costs by allowing them to develop a "world car" that can be sold in all markets instead of the current system of developing separate models and drivetrains for the United States. Current policy dramatically limits the choice of automobiles available to the American public by preventing manufacturers from selling more fuel efficient models in the United States due to costs associated with developing new drivetrain components and receiving certification.
