Leonard Nimoy passed away at the age of 83 on February 27th, 2014. His contributions to all forms of entertainment and his advocacy for education and space exploration merit a recognition by the Federal government. For those reasons, plus many more, his iconic Spock character's phrase of parting with others of "Live Long and Prosper" should be given to this day.
