The Hmong are a minority group in Laos that were recruited to help in a Secret War during the Vietnam War. The Hmong fought to save American pilots that were shot down and to prevent Communist North Vietnam from sending supplies down the Ho Chi Minh Trail. After the United States pulled out of the war, many Hmong were persecuted and killed for siding with the United States. This led to many Hmong refugees coming to the United States and other countries.
However, today many Hmong that remain in Laos are still being persecuted by the Lao government. The United States as a world power should ensure that the Laotian government treat its people and the Hmong with respect and equality. The Hmong are the United States allies. Please help ensure their safety for the future. Please sign. Thank you
