RECOGNIZE THE HALABJA GAS-ATTACKS OF 16/8/1988 AS GENOCIDE

Created by R.B. on June 10, 2013

On 16/8/1988, Saddam Hussein (then predictator of Iraq) decided to repress the Kurdish people and better gain control over the country by gassing the town of Halabja. This, among other, acts of Saddam Hussein represents a brutal attempt in the history of the country and one of the serious attempts in leaving the Kurdish people to the ashes of history. United States, as the sole superpower and holder of moral high ground, should recognize this attempt for what it is, a genocide.

Countries that have already recognized it are many leading European nations among them UK, Germany and France.

Also Iraq has recognized it - and there are no risk in offending anyone here.
