I would like to see Ms. Antoinette Tuff recognized by our government for her heroic and selfless actions in preventing an armed man from hurting any of the staff or students at her school in Georgia. When someone risks their life, as Ms. Tuff did, to save the lives of countless others, we need to hold up that person's actions as a model for what a hero really is. She is not a action movie star, a professional athlete, or a first responder. She had no special training, and had no way of knowing if she would be killed for trying to talk the gunman down. But in spite of the danger, she bravely spoke to the gunman, buying precious time for the police to respond and the school to evacuate. Please join me in urging our government to recognize the actions of Ms. Tuff, who deserves our thanks
