recognize the heroism shown by teachers who have put their lives on the line, literally, for their students.

Unfortunately, the villian's infamy often outlives the hero's fame. We should make special effort to make sure this does not happen due to our inaction in these recent cases. We have medals for soldiers that lay down their lives to save others. I think these heros of Newtown,CT, and Taft,CA deserve to be honored too.
