Recognize Higher Education as a Human Right

Created by S.C. on October 10, 2014

As we all know, America was built on the principle of social mobility, equality, and opportunity. However, when the cost of higher education bars many middle- and lower-class individuals from obtaining it, making it a privilege only for the wealthy. This is wrong, because in this day and age, not only is a higher education necessary for many positions that fuel the upper middle-class; higher education is essential in a world where discoveries are being found and many of the emerging jobs are in STEM fields.

Education should not become an inherited status symbol, and if it is our right, it would improve class mobility and opportunity in this country. It can make us a leader in the STEM fields and create more jobsm fueling th economy and middle class.
