US banknotes over $100 were last printed before WWII. Banknotes of these denomination in the possession of banks were destroyed after 1969.
In 1969 there was roughly one $100 banknote per capita in the USA. In 2013 there are over 25 banknotes per capita, but roughly 75% circulate overseas.
Given the extreme cost of producing billions of the new color $100 banknotes, the signers of this petition think that it is time that a $1000 "coin" or "casino style chip" or "banknote" with RFID protection was issued.
When this "currency" is used, it will be checked to see if they are counterfeit. This process will convey to the government the location and serial number. Criminals will avoid using this "currency". It is an inconvenience legitimate users will have to tolerate.
