Recognize International Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19)

Created by M.S. on January 18, 2013

"Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates." Mark Twain.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is celebrated September 19th around the world every year. It has been observed on every continent (including Antarctica) and on the International Space Station. It is a celebration that began as a sporting accident on a racquetball court in Albany, Oregon with an ARRR! Since that fateful hamstring pull, it has been the source of mirth and merriment (as well as a jumping off point for education) in classrooms and offices all over the globe. The history of this event can be found on the web site; www.talklikeapirate.com

We seek official recognition of this event by President Obama and a show of American "Pirattitude!"
