Recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. Designate the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem the U.S. Embassy in Israel.

Created by I.R. on November 17, 2012

Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel. The United States maintains a Consulate in Jerusalem and an Embassy in Tel Aviv. It is important for the United States to recognize Israeli sovereignty, recognize Jerusalem as the capital city and declare the Consulate in Jerusalem the U.S. Embassy to Israel. The Embassy in Tel Aviv should be designated a Consulate. This simple gesture of respect would have a dramatic effect on strengthening ties between the United States and Israel and make significant progress in stabilizing the region by communicating to those entities challenging Israeli sovereignty that there is no day light between the United States and Israel.
