Recognize Lack of Democracy and Serious Human Rights Violations by the Egyptian Government. Call for fair elections

Created by T.A. on February 11, 2013

Recognize the lack of democracy and serious human rights violations by the Egyptian government and the ruling Moslem Brotherhood President. Respect for basic human rights, while enshrined in the newly adopted Constitution, is seriously lacking in practice. Demand immediate improvements in the spheres of democracy, human rights, women's rights, basic freedoms and freedom of assembly. Call for the release of kidnapped activists. Recognize that past presidential and parliamentary elections and the recent Referendum on the Constitution failed to meet international standards. Call for free and fair parliamentary elections with international supervision.
