Many in the legal community (and elsewhere) believe Rob & I chose to be gay and thus not qualify to adopt a child. As a same sex married couple in Florida they also say Florida doesn't recognize gay marriage and they treat us as singles. HOWEVER, If it's so true that we have CHOSEN to be gay, then we should also have the ability to CHOOSE to NOT be gay right? We can also choose to be gay again at a later time right? I mean people make choices back and forth for all sorts of reasons. How will they handle the "choice" problem? It would be curious to see how the court, and society would handle a case [ when we "decide" to be heterosexual, apply to adopt a child (either of us).] Florida claims we are not married, so even though we were married in Canada. FOLKS SAY WE CHOOSE, LET'S SEE!
