I propose that the president recognize December as National Christian Heritage Month. The influence of Christianity on the United States of America is undeniable. This recognition would not be an endorsement of the faith, but a recognition of its impact on the history of our country. Much like the new LGBT Heritage Month purports to promote education on its heritage, so too would this month promote education on the heritage of Christianity in the United States, from its birthing of schools and hospitals to the impact on the forefathers and the development of the free nation. December was chosen because it is the month commonly used to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
