Recognize Muslim Holidays throughout the school year.

Over the recent years, the number of Muslim students- both native-born and migrants- in public schools in our great country has continued to grow. While some Muslim families send their kids to Islamic schools, the majority of Muslim kids does attend public schools- a fact that is critical to the assimilation process in the US.
However, Muslim families face a challenge when it comes to celebrating religious festivals with their near and dear ones. Most Muslim kids end up missing Friday prayers, while many can't attend holidays such as Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha
Therefore, it is imperative that Muslim holidays be accorded a recognition that is long overdue.
Recognition of Muslim holidays will encourage Muslim families to enroll kids in public schools- thus facilitating integration.
