Environmental policy ought not stifle economic growth; therein, economic growth ought not compromise environmental quality. Applying a systems approach, environmental health is one in the same with human health. The U.S.'s environmental decisions have global impacts, and a commitment to environmental justice, both domestically and abroad, requires recognition and legitimacy of climate change science to then guide decisions regarding food security, energy production, poverty reduction, urban planning, etc.
