recognize the need for mental health care reform. People should not be unsupervised and unmedicated with schizophrenia.

Back before there were school shootings and movie massacres there were institutions for people that heard voices telling them to hurt others. We have people in prison for killing their parents and eating their brains because they were judged legally sane. A person should be able to walk into a hospital and say, "I hear voices in my head and I can't make them stop", and get immediate help. People should not be released from hospitals without proper medications and continued medical supervision especially if they are still hearing the voices at the time of their release. The mentally ill make up a large portion of the homeless population as well as the prison population. These people need help not imprisonment or a park bench. Tragedies will continue unabated unless we DO something.
