We, the undersigned Jewish US Citizens, want the Israeli government, and the US government that supports it, to know that we do not condone their handling of the Palestinian situation.
Disproportionate, collective punishment of the civilian population cannot be called self defense. The Israeli government cannot be allowed to rationalize killing so many civilians and wash its hands of its own overreactions, despite its legitimate need to defend against largely ineffective rocket attacks.
Israel's policies towards its non-Jewish citizens and neighbors would not be possible without US support. This support must be conditional on change and must no longer be automatic.
