Palestine has been oppressed by the Israeli people for over half a century and much of the instability within the Middle East is a result of this. On November 1st of this year, the United States cut it's funding for UNESCO because a two-thirds majority was reached in order to recognize Palestine as an independent nation. If Palestine is fully independent, then they are allowed to build hospitals, schools, and they would not be the subject of Israel's oppression.
