As a machinist I know that there is little or no cost difference in making quality products compared to products engineered to last only a certain amount of time, a practice known as engineered obsolescence. Though many companies practice this abusive tactic to force consumers to purchase more products. This is a waste of resources and we can no longer accept this throw away culture. Also this is driving respectable companies out of business by flooding the market with inferior goods.
All companies who engineer their products with a limited lifespan just so they can see profits from replacement sales should be disqualified from all tax incentives.
